Description
"Hold your horses" ... "Chomping on the bit" ..."Pulling in the reigns" ...."Horsepower". These common phrases and many more percolated to the top of mind over the days we spent being carried up the mountain pass by these majestic souls. The history of technology and transportation, moves so quickly through time. It is soothing to leave behind the cellular reach, slowing to the pace of hooves clomping beneath you, with mountains reaching to the sky on either side for days on end.
This sense of peace is in such juxtaposition to the tragic events unfolding in the Ukraine and the Middle East right now. It is difficult to fathom and painful to reconcile with the realities of so many people. At the bare minimum it is essential to acknowledge the sanctity of the peace that exists in our world, despite its failings, and to never take it for granted.
